INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ABOUT THE CARNIOLAN HONEYBEE

SCOPE
The purpose of the International Conference about Carniolan honeybees is to bring together scientists, researchers and queen breeders who are interested in the conservation of Carniolan honeybees Apis mellifera carnica and to establish collaboration between them.

The aim of this conference is to:

• Present the issue of preserving the Carniolan honeybee in various countries.
• Establish collaboration between participating professionals in the field of Carniolan honeybee preservation and selection.
• Reach an agreement on consistent (morphological, ethological and genetic) parameters for the Carniolan honeybee (ecotypes).
• Establish an international group for the preservation of the Carniolan honeybee.
• Present good examples of preserving local subspecies of honeybees.

CONFERENCE AREAS
Each of the topic areas could be expanded, so this topic list is not exhaustive. Papers may address one or more of the listed topics:

• the status of the Carniolan honeybee across areas - countries in comparison with other bee subspecies,
• the criteria used to define the Carniolan honeybee,
• current activities in Carniolan honeybee preservation and selection,
• good practices of preserving local bee subspecies in individual regions.

ABSTRACT FOR THE CONFERENCE
Authors should submit the abstract of their paper by e-mail to the address: andreja.kandolf@czs.si. The abstract text should be typed, be between 1000 and 2000 characters (including space). Authors should send the abstract in English, checked for grammar and spelling, by 15 December 2011.

PUBLICATIONS
Accepted papers will be included in the conference proceedings.

ApiSlovenija, 35. dnevi čebelarstva

Obveščamo vas, da bo v času od 16. -18. marca 2012 potekalo največje druženje čebelarjev v Sloveniji. Vse dni bodo potekale strokovne razprave o najbolj aktualnih vprašanjih čebelarstva, prav tako tudi mednarodna prodajna razstava.

V petek 16. marca bo potekal prvi mednarodni simpozij o kranjski čebeli.

Namen simpozija je druženje znanstvenikov, raziskovalcev in vzrejevalcev matic, ki so zainteresirani za ohranitev kranjske čebele in za vzpostavitev medsebojnega sodelovanja.
